Here I present Sarai Winters

I was thinking of just keeping this posted in my friends-only joural when I thought about it more, and figured, hey, why not share some of the love with the community. Perk it up a little bit. :)

Once again... [Sunday
March 19th, 2006 at 11:23am]

[ mood | geeky ]

I originally posted this with my first account aussa, but I decided to delete it and create a new one, so anyways, I will post it again, since the other post does not exist anymore. This time I probably won't delete it so soon.

Sorry if posting this again bothers anyone.Collapse )

Review with oranges... [Friday
February 24th, 2006 at 5:46pm]

[ mood | geeky ]

I found a review in one of the most recent Beckett Anime magazines.

I guess oranges are popular now...Collapse )

If you'd like it to have forever or something, please save it to your server or something, since I am not sure how long it will be until I delete it. (I will surely have it up for quite a few months though.)

San Antonio Signing [Tuesday
February 7th, 2006 at 1:43pm]

Just a heads up to the gals (and guys!) in San Antonio: I'm working with the staff of the San Antonio public library to come down May 6th at 1 pm to speak, maybe do some activities, and sign books. I know some of you are members (and leaders) of some of the anime clubs in town, so would it would be possible to pass the word along? *hides* Eep! And, as usual, I have bribes to hand out to all who can make it. :D

Ushicon Schedule! [Monday
January 23rd, 2006 at 3:36pm]

(x-posted to my journal) :)

For all you gals and guys in the Austin/San Antonio area, I just got the final schedule for Ushicon. So here goes!

1pm – Writing a Good Character
2pm – Artist Q&A
4pm – Manga Publishing (with Arima)
8pm – Opening Ceremonies

10am – Artist’s Round Table
11am – Women in Anime
4pm – Create a Character

10am-11:30am – Breakfast Buffet
1pm – Storytelling

I'll also have a table in artist's alley for the time in-between panels, (and before and after), so if you'd like to drop by for a signed copy of "Steady Beat," free posters and goodies (I have playdough!), and even wish to bring your portfolio around to have it looked at, that's where I'll be. *^-^*

I'm looking forward to meeting everybody and talking your ears off. ^_~ Can't wait for Ushicon! It's so nice to finally meet the local fans. *^-^*

In which I can't draw well... [Wednesday
January 18th, 2006 at 4:35pm]

[ mood | crazy ]

I've been staying on the low around here... I thought I should just share some fan art I did of Leah Winters, even though it is just a head. (Ha ha.)

I hope to be inspired some time in the future again by our dear Rivkah, so that I can bring some more fan art to this community.

I'm working on one of June, too, and they're both going to be colored. I also hope to do ones of Sarai and June and Elijah once these are done. :) Hope ya'll like 'em!

Rivkah is going to be present as a guest at Ushicon this year. Is anyone going to be going?

Maybe we can have a "Steady Beat" fan meetup.

For those of you who don't watch Rivkah's blog, she's holding a colouring contest!

follow the link

There's a pretty sweet prize involved for the winner, not to mention a really fun contest. Due date is December 19th. After the contest, I'll post my entry up here. I look forward to seeing what the rest of you have come up with!

I bought Steady Beat at Borders tonight (after arguing with the manager that yes, indeed, it was in the store, grrrr.)

Crack I tell you, it's crack. I haven't bought manga since 1997. Now I'm an addict again. *twitches a little*

I will now be spending my weekend forc...erm, encouraging all of my friends to buy this as well.

Well done, Rivkah, well done.

New [Sunday
October 23rd, 2005 at 8:09pm]

I just made a layout out of an image on Rivah's site.

Here's a preview.

If anyone wants the overrides for it, just comment and ask.

EDIT: OVERRIDES LJ won't let me comment with this, so, here you go.

You need to have everything set to Generator in Style 1 and all the custom colors should be blank except for Page Background, Weak Accent, Strong Accent and Stronger Accent, which will all be white. If there's anything that needs more customization or fixing, just tell me.

[ mood | concerned ]

So, today I picked up Steady Beat at the local Indigo store.

I absolutely loved it. It was funny, and cute, and beautifully drawn, and I would really recommend it to my friends. I'm not even big on shoujo manga D: ALso, It has lots of bonus sketches that come after the story. What a pleasant surprise! I love it when artists add extra concept art to their books. I absolutely *LOVE* how she draws her technical things. The phone, streetlights, cars, the elephant. So realistic, but fitting in well with the manga scene. I would go into it more, but I'm eager to watch Batman Begins :D I'll just say that I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to the second one! And I'm looking forward to more development with Jessica and Sarai.

I also noticed lilrivkah deleted her journal, and now I am sad. I wonder if her editor scolded her for keeping a public blog about her comic. I hope you're doing alright, wherever you went!

*waves* Hello there! This is Rivkah. >_<

It's awesome to see a community dedicated to Steady Beat, and I was thinking that if you guys and gals have any questions WHATSOEVER about the book, making it, my work techniques, etc, please consider this the official community to do so. I may not be able to reply right away due to time constraints, but I'll definitely do my best. :)

And I'd *love* to know what you thought about the book. I hope you liked it! O_O
